What’s In December’s Flask?

Jake and Ryan love watching dance. They can’t get enough. Every month they plan their calendar around their favorite upcoming shows. But in order to ease the tension and get into the mood, they also bring a cocktail catered to that specific performance. So what’s in December’s flask?

“Ir-Rational” is an imagined meeting between the intuitive Mary, Queen of Scots and the rational Queen Elizabeth of England. Their collision reflects the struggle in each of us between impulse and reason.

Drink Selection: We made two drinks for this piece, one for Mary and one for Elizabeth.  Mary gets “The Tudor Sisters.” Scotch, bitters, sugar, iced-tea and lemon.  Boil ingredients together and serve warm.  Elizabeth gets “The Royal Pain.” Crown Royal, bitters, sugar, iced-tea and lemon.  Serve on the rocks, just like their relationship.

“Nutcracker.” Enough said.

Drink Selection: Forget the Rat King: brother Fritz is a dick y’all! He breaks the Nutcracker in the first scene! We got so hung up on this we had to make two drinks.  First is “The Ball Bustin’ Brother” – Bailey’s, Frangelico, Creme de Menthe and a splash of Chamboard.  Second is “On the Fritz” – brandy eggnog. Take that Fritz!

“10 Por Arriba” celebrates the season with flamenco as a jazz performance . . . loose, improvisational and always exciting!

Drink Selection: The “Arriba Franklin” is what we like to call this fiery sangria – merlot, blackberry brandy, peach schnapps, splash of soda water, chili powder and cinnamon muddled in fruit.  Serve on the rocks.

“D.R.U.N.K.S” is a satirical physical theatre piece full of dangerous rebels, nonsensical knowledge, and boot scootin’ gun slingin’ shot takin’ fun.

Drink Selection: We love the name of this piece.  Please pre-game the shit out of this show.  We made the “The Liver Be-Gone” (requires double fisting).  Beer of your choice in one hand and a “Liver Be-Gone” in the other.  Vodka, rum, gin, tequila, triplesec, sour mix, splash of coke and float with grenadine and Bacardi 151.  After the show go crazy and do body shots.
