Dancecast Meets Stance on Dance

Stance on Dance is trying something new: podcasts! Silva Laukkanen recently launched a dance podcast series called Dancecast, which explores dance in non-traditional contexts. Emmaly Wiederholt (Stance on Dance’s fair editor) reached out to Silva to ask if she’d like to share Dancecast on Stance on Dance. To Emmaly’s delight, Silva said yes! And to kick off the collaboration, Silva suggested Emmaly be the first interview. The two ladies discussed why dance dialogue is important, what is traditional versus non-traditional dance, the value of technique, and so much more.

In the next couple weeks, Silva will be sharing a podcast series with dance artists working with people who are incarcerated, so stay tuned!
