A Dance of Love… A Love of Dance
Happy National Poetry Month from Stance on Dance!
BY RACHEL MEYER; ARTWORK BY VIDA VILJOEN
I’ll dance this dance of love
this love I dance for you
the audience is waiting,
so I’ll share my story soon
The curtain begins to rise
on a feature yet unknown
anticipation grows
anticipation groans
The stage door breathes me in
where curiosity thrives
pulls deep into the dark
and dreams materialize
I’ll dance when my muscles scream
I’ll move though I may be broken
cause the audience is waiting
on a scene that’s yet unspoken
